Hello/Goodbye (I Don't Know Why I Say Hello/I Say Goodbye) - What Gives?
by BizzyBee inseveral posters (whom i will not name because it doesn't matter) have basically said good-bye lately.
we all responded as usual, with genuine sentiments - how much we will miss them, etc.
but, quite frankly there is something almost disparaging or critical implied toward the rest of us who choose to remain on the board by those who "move on.

Hey Bizzybee,
Here's a line from a letter that I just wrote to a new friend from this board... kinda explains my position:
When I don't think about it, the whole WTS thing doesn't bother me too much. Getting on this board has definitely awoken so many feelings that I'd rather suppress but it would be foolish to think that I've completely adjusted and it would be criminal for me to ignore the people that I care about that are still being hurt by those bast***s. As much of an independent person as I'd like to consider myself, that's a bunch of crap and this board is starting to really have an impact.

time to introduce myself
by Sam87 inok, ive been posting here for quite a few days and i realised that i havnt actually introduced myself properly.
at the moment i am slowly gathering as much information about what the org has done wrong and i will be putting it into an easy to read (easy enough for jws to read i should say.
later on i would like to go to an assembly and put my new 'tracts' on the seats and under peoples window washers, anywhere where they can be seen, because i view this as my new form of witnessing, and let me tell you its going to be alot more fullfilling than anything ive ever done in the jehovahs witnesses!.

Hi Sam87,
As you already know... You came to the right place.
Congrats on you and your family's escape and good luck (don't you just love that word?) with your new ministry. I to, am trying to come up with a succinct (yet thorough) letter to express my position to anyone who cares to read it. I say succinct because I've discovered that the typical dub (even my family members) has the attention span of a 2 year old when it comes to listening to anything that doesn't spew from the frog infested mouth of the FDS.
Please keep us posted on your progress, successes, failures, and perhaps even a copy of your tract. Please remember that this forum functions on a give and take basis and there are a lot of young people here.
God bless you!

Hey Carmel... I think "DRY" was a nice way to say "sadistically hurtful and malicious"...
example:
I happen to know this young man and one day, after not seeing him for several years (and having gained a few pounds ...which I have since lost!!!) He greeted me at the door by turning around and yelling, "Mom! Some fat guy ate Gordon!"
Gotta love the little .... -

Hey wanderer,
If you leave, that's your choice but don't be surprised if I don't say hello when we meet at the grocery store! What are you trying to start your OWN board?
You CAN'T leave, new people show up everyday and misery does love company... besides, we're all holding our breath to see how this search for a potential mate thing comes out. ***Little hint*** you might already be in the right place for that one.
I really appreciate your (thoughtful and sincere) posts. -

Is anyone going to the "Walk against (global) warming"?
by serenitynow ini'm planning on going to the "walk against warming" tomorrow.
this event is to try to make the australian government pay more attention to the public's concern with global warming.
i am really angry we haven't ratified the kyoto protocol.

I would... but my legs rub together when I walk... and I think that would be counter-productive.
Besides, it's a little bit chilly outside. -

It's not really a question of the dog's potential for aggression... it's all about the hardware in their cute little grin.
I don't think that M-80's are any more likely to blow up in someone's hand than a regular firecracker... they're outlawed becuase WHEN they DO go off accidentally, they take fingers with them.
